Meet Kirk Rasmussen
Documentary Filmmaker
Kirk is a documentary filmmaker specializing in expedition cinematography and founder of Topographic Media. Kirk’s passion for open places and open people has been a constant guide in his work; directing projects in the Himalayas, Alps, Patagonia and Alaska Range for organizations such as Patagonia, Outside, NOLS, PBS, and American Express. He is also a three-time Banff Mountain Film Festival finalist. Originally from Fairbanks, Alaska, Kirk now spends most of his time exploring the American West on bikes, skis, sleds, or by foot and always with a camera in hand.
